    Good Light

Haven't been shooting too much (nature) lately. I did get out the other evening. It started to rain just as I arrived "on set". About 30 minutes later, the sun poked through for a little bit before it was gone for good for the evening.

    Snapped these during the break.

Thanks for noticing, Slayer. I can never pass up shots of "opposites". The contrast between the "soft and fuzzy" against "sharp and nasty" made for nice composition IMO.

I never would have thought to take a picture of the leaf, you took something "not perfect" and made it look perfect.
I didn't even notice the thorns in the bird shot, I was going to get my handy bird book to see if I could ID it.

Looks like a bunting of some variety in those thorns - nice.
The moth is good too, even though it's not looking into the camera
Hard to get good exposure on those dark moths.

Karen - thanks for the comments! The great thing about photography is that it gives one the ability to show others exactly what to look at. So a plain leaf which might not get a second notice (or even a first for that matter) by 99% of the public can now take center stage for all to see, and hopefully, appreciate.

Paul - LOL - if you notice the creature isn't smiling either The bird is definitely a sparrow - just which one I don't know.

That's a field sparrow in a hardly illustrated plumage.

Nice images Loupey. What is that first one? Can't say I've ever seen anything like that in my part of the world.

    Cheers,

Paul - thanks for the ID

WesternGuy - don't know the species name. But a small, nondescript moth-like bugger with black wings (looks non-black here due to the angle of the sun). About twice the size of a lightening bug and a slow flier.
