He was well shaded, so I'm pleased how well he showed up. Data shows the distance as 7.5 meters, shot at 300mm on my new-to-me first-day-out D7000, no flash, and these are 1-to-1 crops 1280 pixels wide.

Looking good. I think you are really going to like the D7000. Jeff

cute little bird..nice pics!
Re: Golden-Crowned Warbler
Nice shots
I cant wait for winter in Florida since this will be my first year with proper equipment to take some photos of our warbler invasion
Re: Golden-Crowned Warbler
Nice shots, might want to bring Paul in for a possitive ID but I'd say that is a Worm-eating Warbler.
Re: Golden-Crowned Warbler
Could be, with the belly fading from yellow to white, where on the golden-crowned it's yellow all the way back, from images I'm looking up for comparison. The heads are very close, and that's wehre I got my ID.
Either way, it's the first one I've seen. :)
Re: Golden-Crowned Warbler
I clicked on the link to see a Golden-crowned having never seen one when I looked at the photos the bird looked very familiar. The Worm-eating in Sibley's book shows a dark eye line the Golden-crowneds looks much lighter. Another thing that makes me think Worm-eating is the bill is large. I saw one last week never got a shot of it tough bird to get. I'm far from being an expert and get many ID's wrong, post a copy in summer bird thread see what Paul says.
