    Grizzly close up

found this guy at the same spot i saw the courting grizzlies last week. I assume its the same male but im not sure. anyways he was much closer this time, and apparently had been swimming. The full body shot is full frame.

    Re: Grizzly close up

How close were you to the bear?

People say let the bear know you're there. If you surprise it with your presence, you never know what would happen to you. Just wondering: did you feel danger at any moment during the shoot?

    Nice shots BTW.

    Re: Grizzly close up

thanks, the bottom shot is the full frame (no crop) with 340mm reach on a crop sensor. so we were damn close. but i was also in our vehicle, so i was/felt completely safe.

the 2 days prior to this i did surprise a black bear at less than 40 feet, and then one walked past us (we were standing working in one spot talking, and it litterly walked past us on a game trail) at about 15 feet.... that one was a bit scary. but thats just life in the 'stone.

If this was one of the "courting" grizzlies, it was Lamar.
