    The Fly

    I shot this the other day with my cannon 100 mm macro and 2 x converter. Let me know what you think:

    Wow that's close/big! doesn't look like your ordinary fly either. I'm trying to pick up visual cues as to how small this fellow is. What is it resting on?

    It's not often one gets to see such a beast in all that detail

    Hi Loupey and Thanks!

    The berries or grapes it's sitting on are about the size of a pencil eraser maybe a bit bigger

    yeah it's antennae are very unusual, at least from the ones i remember sorting this summer.

    very nice pic, is that cropped at all? if not i may have to think about getting that combo for macro work after i get a dslr

    Nice. Love that it is upside down. We have a tendency to show things from our human perspective sometimes, not the way it is in nature...
