Florida's Space Coast

These shots are from about a month ago while I was in Florida for spring break. The Black Point Wildlife Drive is on NASA's property at the Kennedy Space Center. We did about 2 - 3 miles of biking on the road and the grassy trail was 5 miles long. The temps were on the cool side at the start, but by the time we finished the ride, it had warmed up and all of the animals were appearing.

I know the pictures speak for themselves, but I felt like I should label them anyway. :rolleyes: Work has kept me so busy lately that I haven't had time to do any editing, but I was tired of holding on to them without sharing.

Willet, white ibis, black necked stilts and a great blue heron. the snake is watersnake I do believe.

Thanks for the info. I had most of them labeled at home, but was feeling a bit lazy during my lunch to pull it back up. Most of the pics are by me, but my little ones took a few of these and are quickly gaining more and more experience.

Nice shots!! I was in that area just last week. Tons of stuff to shoot there. The Blackpoint is almost totally dry right now! Hopefully we will get some rain soon!!
Paulnj, Are you sure thats a willet? I was thinking it was a Greater Yellowlegs.The bill to head proportion and color of legs make me think this might be the case. :thumbsup:

OMG... YOU ARE CORRECT! Even I make mistakes, but don't tell anyone. Greater yellowlegs it is DEFINATELY.
