    Flies of the Smallest Order
    Invisible to the casual observer. Hard to believe that they have all the same parts and pieces as their giant cousins the horseflies.

    It rained all day and when it finally stopped this evening, the air was as still as I have never seen before. Shot about ten steps from my front door.

    Thanks, Frog.

    The lens is the Canon 180mm macro.
    The EXIF is: ISO 400, 1/45s, f/6.7 but....

    Since this shot was made at near 1:1 magnification and no amount of stopping down would get those drops in focus, I used the focus stacking technique to merge 4 shots (each at the specs above). Like I said earlier, it was real still :)

    Nice job! Never thought the multi-shot / multi-focus idea would work with nature but this is so sharp!
