Fledgling Bluebird
While watching mom and dad, I noticed this little guy hopping around on the ground. Before I left there were at least 2 more out of the nest.

Re: Fledgling Bluebird
Nice! Once they "fly the coop," they are gone from the box for good! Hopefully you've got a good mealworm feeding routine already set up for the mating pair. The juveniles will hang around for awhile still, waiting to be fed by their super parents! Enjoy!
PS: We've got a small brood of our own in our backyard bluebird house . . . day 14 after hatching. Two of the four eggs hatched and the other two turned out to be sterile. Both little ones are males and both are healthy as a horse!

Re: Fledgling Bluebird
Welcome to the Forum Hairy and thanks for the kind words. I have been a real slacker as far as the mealworm feeding goes. In fact, most of my mealworms are now beetles so I may have to order some more if I don't want to wait for new mealworms to show up on their own. :)
