First time posting...a day at the river

This is my first time posting on this forum. Took some photos during a day at the river. Let me know what you think. Thanks. :)

1. A small creek in a park near the river.

2. A frog was nice enough to let me catch him up close.

3. The frog backed up a little when I got closer.

4. A blackbird sitting on the rocks next to the shore.

5. A river gull swooping down attempting to catch something in the water.

6. There was some sort of strange growth on the trees around the river. Not sure what that is from.

Welcome to PR. Nice pictures. You've done well.

In #5 the growth reminds me of the disease that Butternut trees get which will eventually kill them.... but I am not positive n the ID. I can't remember who but one of the regular posters in this forum is an arborist (or at least a tree sprayer lol) and may be of more assistance.

Wow, those are all great shots. Neat blackbird, I noticed the blue head colour. I've never seen a bird like that, where are you located? Keep the photos coming!

Thanks very much Scott! These blackbirds are quite common in Wisconsin. But the red-winged birdbirds are also really cool when their wings are spread. I hope to get some shots of those sometime soon.
