Evil bird...

When I looked out the window today, I saw a bird we've never seen before. It looked like a black capped chickadee but was large and solid white, except two black stripes over and under each eye. Couldn't get a shot though. Then five finches showed up and this evil mockingbird dived in and actually grabbed one of the little finches the little one squaked and was thrown down. SO, anyway here's the evil bird that won't share

I know, common and nothing special, but it's that time if year round here.

Nice shot's of an evil bird, I hope the finch wasn't hurt :lol: It can be a lot of fun to watch how the birds behave with each other. I get female downy w/p's that will chase much larger birds from the suit.

I saw another of the same bird today. It seems to be a tern, although the specific variety is very much in question. As i stated, it only appears to be one (nothing concrete yet), it resembles a least tern very much. I will be walking the area tomorrow to see if I can get a shot of one.

It looks like we may have a match. I thought they were coastal birds though. I live in the dead center of georgia, a good way from the coast. I was mistaken with my first sighting, as I thought I saw two black areas (very quick look, and it left), after seeing it earlier today, and assuming it was the same thing I noticed only the larger black area similar to the subject you have posted. We are getting many shorebirds in the area. Everyday I go to work, we have huge flocks of gulls, and several pipers, most are the very common pipers, although there is another type I have yet to identify. Perhaps I'll take my camera to work next week.
