Dragonfy in flight - My lame tribute to Loupey :-)

    Hey all,

I have no delusions of trying to supplant Loupey as the "Dragon Fly Master", but this fellow just kept hanging around me today while I was working the Black-Necked Stilts. So what can I say Anyway, these are just hand held with the 40D and 300mm f4L with a 25mm extension tube. they are far from my normal sharpness standards, but were fun to shoot. Just thought I'd share. I'll probably kick into "maco" gear here pretty soon, once the chicks are gone and birds migrate away for the summer:

These look pretty good Bob. It seems like dragonfly's are taking over the N&W forum lately. If the weather cooperates, I may just have to go out and give this a try.

    These are outstanding.

I have been trying to get some action shots of these critters all weekend to no avail...

Your shots give me inspiration to keep trying Bob.

Really nice shots Bob, perhaps not to your usual standards but certainly well beyond mine. I take my hat off to you... (don't mind the glare...it's why I wear a hat to begin with)

Hey, C_B, you're too modest! If these are your first attempts, then we are all in for a treat.

Your first and last images are about as sharp as anything I hope to get.

LOL - This was actually my first ever attempt at DF's in flight. He was a target of opportunity. They are everywhere here now, so I may actually try and go out looking for them. They're kinda fun to shoot, and certainly have a large variety here now!
