Soft-shelled turtle I believe. Been trying to get this guy (and the other hard shelled ones) from my favorite pond all spring. They must be able to hear my breathing because I cannot get close to them.

This shot is about a 50% crop at 400mm (200 with 2x) with 1.6 sensor. See what I mean !?

Judging by the spotted feet, I think this is an eastern spiny softshell and not the midland smooth softshell. I didn't know they lived near you, so I checked ;)
