    Deer & Elk

I took a few days off last week and this time of year that means some skiing. I skied at the resort with my son, but the wildlife sightings usually happen away from the resort on XC or BC ski tours.
I saw these mule deer while XC skiing on the trails I often mountain bike in summer. They were pretty unconcerned with me passing through. A few moments later I saw a big group of 15 or so but they were in lousy light.

I got pretty close to this doe before she left.

Later that night I was startled by this one in my yard when I was taking out the trash. We don't live out in the country, by the way.

Lastly, I was out for a ski last night and saw these guys just after shooting some landscape shots.

Nice set of images, Matt. I really like the first composition with the pair of Muleys.

Thanks! That's my favorite too. The light was just perfect when I took that one.

Yeah, Matt, I like the first one, too. It's a nice composition with the rock screen and that tree. And I like the elk photo, too. I just love the huge scale of that scene and that post-sunset blue light. Well-done.
