    Those are some great looking birds, but I think I like the flower image the most out of these. I like the different shades of green, and the 'simple' subject.

    Superb shots Payn817, is this a Great Egret? as its much bigger than our Little Egrets that i post, and much more extravagant, the dress feathers are beautiful.

    Thanks for your thoughts.

    Copy, my heart is in macro and florals. Just recently got a real macro and am starting to develop that area so I agree, I like it alot also.

    Bev, the ones with the long feathers are great egrets, this is the breeding plumage. Normally the green by the beak is orange (i think) and the long feathers are not present. The one with "bed head" is a snowy egret (or cattle egret? Paul?). I think your egrets are the same as my great egrets. These aren't huge, I was a few feet away and using 400 & 300mm lenses.
