Birds in flight - black-headed gull

Here's one of my attempts on BIF, from yesterday, one where the whole bird is in the frame for a change

It's a black-headed gull Chroicocephalus ridibundus which those of you in coastal Eastern Canada and NE USA might know. It looses its hood in the winter and regains it in the spring in time for amting season - it apparently impresses the opposite sex

oooooo, I like Mette! It kind of looks like a laughing gull that I used to see (and hear) when I used to go to Cape Hatteras, NC

Thanks, Kristine and Loupey It's definitely one of my best BIF's to date! Kristine, these ones are really noisy too - you're not in doubt when they are around!

Very nice shot, great background and nice and sharp. Smart of it to become a hood in mating season, everyone knows the ladies like a bad boy....
