    Cuban Brown Anole macro shot

I was setting up on a butterfly, and caught this little fellow out of the corner of my eye. I only got 2 shots of him before he scampered off, but I think this one is kinda cool. Basically, he was backlit, and I used the macro flash to fill in the front side. I just like the backlit effect on the dewlap. Wish I'd had more DOF here, but no time to set up the shot. Focus was on the eye, but I think about f/18 would've really nailed the shot.

Nice shot of an opportunistic moment. The backlit dewlap is gorgeous.

I know you've been doing tremendous work with the macro lighting rig. But personally, I think I would have shot this without the fill to make the dewlap that much more of a standout.

I also find it tough getting the right color balance between the fill flash and the ambient light. Most of the time, the natural light is far too warm compared to the much cooler "daylight" calibrated flash.

Just some thoughts. Still a nice shot
