Ode to the Red Winged Black Bird

Seems quite a few folks in the forum like these guys, myself included. Part of the reason is because they can be a challenge.
Spent sometime last Sunday trying my best to capture a day in the life of a couple of them.

Tracked down a few nests. No eggs in them as of yet. As you can see in the first photo, some are nicely hidden in the reeds.

Next 2 were posted previously but thought they should be added to the Ode.

And finally, quite possibly my best pose for this birdie as of yet.

Kristine, another beautiful , well done package.
One of my Grandpas could pay the fiddle, and the only selection I remember him playing was "Red Wing".

You may not be a fan of country music (when I was young it was called Hill Billy) but take a moment and listen to this version.

What's the saying? "Try it you might like it."

I'll be watching for eggs in the nests.

Thank you for all your wonderful pictures.
    Now listen to this.

    Sure Cara... go for it!

Actually I do not like "Country" music at all, but that link I just listened to is not the Country music I dislike. I do like the fiddle and pickin' stuff.

    Hi Kristine,
Now I know what to look for when checking out a RWBB nesting area.
Only a few have showed up here so far. Nothing like the numbers you have.
#9 is a very cool shot. He is singing his heart out.
