    Very nice work. I can never get evenly smooth blurred background like that with my bird shots.

    Are these 300mm F2.8 wide-open? 400mm F4?

    200-400 + 1.4TC = 550, and may be a stop or so down. It also depends on how close you're to the subject and how far away the background is from the subject.
