The Common Uncommon

These blue dragonflies are about as ubiquitous as ants or sparrows. Easy to overlook and they become invisible if one stays out too long.

Thought I would try some creative angles while waiting for more "photogenic" subjects to arrive.

For those wondering, these three were all taken with the 300mm f/4L IS. Three different techniques: first one on was handheld and taken on my tip toes to get high enough, the 2nd one with a 2x teleconverter and wide open (very breezy day), and the 3rd down low on a tripod (no TC, no extension tubes).
