    Hey, you dropped something.

Hi, gang. I've been in a photographic funk lately - not because I've run out of ideas or inspiration - just haven't had the time.

The first one is from a week or so ago. The second one from this afternoon - a quick poke out from the back door.

    Not much to share.

    AgingEyes - thanks for looking.

I caught this guy during the same time that the Red-Bellied WP was shot. I've never seen a Northern Mockingbird out this early in the year. Or perhaps I just haven't been looking for them this early.

I've never seen a mockingbird, period. I love the red belly.

I don't believe I have ever seen a mockingbird either, or at least not that I ID'd as one. I wish the pileated that I saw a few weeks ago would come back. They are so cool looking.

BFiredup - yup You'll find that if you spend time shooting birds, you will eventually get a small library of poop images. I know several have already been posted in this forum by the regulars. If anyone wants to repost those images in these thread, go right ahead.

Mike & Mike - I assumed that the Mockingbirds were fairly plentiful up your way as they are here in the spring. Fun to watch as they fly a crazy mating dance and, of course, their varied vocalization. They can make a sound just like a car alarm - but that just shows the urban nature of my area. Hope you can find some - they have beautiful eyes.

I don't think I've seen a mockingbird either. Then again, I can't tell which bird is which to begin with

That piliated deficating is funny and yes indeed it's a mockingbird.

I found 3 on the Christmas Bird Count a month ago in my area. They stay year round in small numbers in the east, but most do migrate.
