The Cheetah & the Wolf

Two of the more intriguing animals at the Living Desert sanctuary in Palm Desert, Ca. The cheetah pictures makes me glad I don't live in the African bush. Look how well he blends into his environment.

Great shots of 2 beautiful wild animals, the wolf one is superb.

I love that cheetah shot! They have always been one of my favorite animals, I never would have guessed the image was taken at a sanctuary if you didn't mention it.

Thanks everyone. Yeah, I suppose that was the intention of the sanctuary...to give them a very real sense of their own habitat. It was much nicer to see than a zoo.

Ok.. did you scan in some post cards or what? J/K Those are exceptional! LOVE the wolf! Not sure I care for the branch above the head in the shot, but that is a beautiful creature. Both shots are fabulous though!

Thanks Amber! But one can't help the branches. The animals like to hide behind them for the most part and that makes photographing them a bit difficult.

Since the wolves are liked so much here's another picture, with another annoying twig in the frame (to the right). These were all shot, by the way, with my Digital Rebel and Simga 70-300mm.

These all make me glad I am not prey!

Well done Ray, in catching that 'look' of the wild.

My grandfather use to take me to one of the first such places in this country many years ago and it is still a cherished memory along with a couple of pretty good images. His in that day and age, not mine. He had the good cameras, I was still (at first) relegated to the instamatics.

Grandpa was hard to keep in the car.
