    Cemetery Birds
Two shots from some of my hikes through our local cemetery. Nothing rare for sure!

I did miss two opportunities to capture white-winged crossbills which were seen there. There is a wintering merlin being reported quite frequently so I hope see/photograph one to add to my list.

Hey, Loupey, did you use MF for these two? Looks like you nearly missed it on the first one :p Composition looks good though...but that's not a surprise coming from you :)

Thanks, AE - the focus appears to be between the eye and the beak in the junco shot.

Yeah, always MF and AE. Haven't yet ventured to AF for any nature/wildlife.

But still waiting for some good BIF opportunities to try out the AF on the 500mm. I'll let you know when/if I ever use AF.

Cardinal is good and sharp Loupey , Junco does appear a bit soft in comparison but it could be that the BG is busier on the Junco .Still very nice :)

Very nice – envy your weather! :p :(

Junco does indeed appear a bit soft. But I like it, it creates a sort of "feeling", which wouldn't be possible with a tack-sharp image. Composition is great as always, Loupey.

Get back there and find the crossbills. They live in conifers BTW.
