    lol.. these guys have that affect on a lot of people

    These are eastern tent caterpillars. They are frequently mistaken for gypsy moth caterpillars or bag worms.

    We fought tent caterpillars every year on our little farm.
    Don't know what they turn into but I can do without them.

    I've heard tent caterpillars can excrete an irritating substance if they are bothered....

    However, birds seem to love eating them. A huge feast for a warbler!

    Frog, they turn into tent caterpillar moths who mate and start the cycle all over again. They tend to be a boring grey or brown colour and have a couple of stripes on the tops of their wings. HTH

    Hmm.. my kids and I play with them and I've never seen them excrete anything, and with the way my youngest daughter squeezes them as she is picking them up, I would think they'd do that!! lol

    We have a lot of robins and they certainly love the feast
