    Cardinal

I've been hearing this guy singing for the last few weeks, but never could spot him. Then today I was in the yard playing with my new XSi and saw him in my neighbors tree.

    Took a bunch of him...

Only being able to upload 5 pictures is not good for indecisive people who can't narrow down what they want to post :P

    One more of the male.

The second shot is who I'm guessing he was singing to. Not the best shot though of her.

And an added sparrow shot since I figure why start a new thread...

Cardinals are great subjects! Gotta love the red against blues and greens.

I thought your photos looked blurry to me so I took a gander at your settings and if I might suggest some things for you to try...

Shoot at 400 ISO instead of 100.
Use a higher shutter speed. Give the Tv or Av setting a try. For these (bird sitting) I would have used a minimum shutter speed of 400 with my 70-300 zoom at 300 handheld. (I noticed your shots were taken between like 125 to 160).

Have fun with your new camera!
Walk softly and carry a big lens.
