    Canon 300 f/4L + Kenko 1.4x TC

I use this combo occasionally, and realized I have never posted the results. Handheld 1/800 @ f/11 ISO 400. I waited for quite a while but the band of sheep just didn't want to come out from behind the Junipers. Handholding this length is difficult, I missed one shot when I moved over a couple of feet and the Ram turned and stared me down for a second or 2, put the rig to my eye but couldn't steady it in time to catch his stare.

That setup is a very good one to handhold. I think this is quite a cool shot!.

The non-IS version I take it?

I absolutely LOVE my 300mm. I shoot 95% of all my images with it.

    Thanks for posting over here!

Yes, it's the non IS version, in my research I gathered the non IS version was sharper, and a lot cheaper. I purchased mine used and although I don't use it as much as you do, it's a very sharp lens, quality in every way. I am partial to my older 80-200 f/2.8L(magic drainpipe) and my 17-40 f/4L, because I mostly shoot landscapes.
