    Vultures - In 'Soar'

    Turkey Vulture - Cathartes aura

The pole on which the last pictures were taken fell over last night. I've had intermittent power as they replace it.

Here's a couple of the vultures in flight. It was at high noon, so, not the best.

From what I can see they don't look that bad either. We're alot alike in that way, being hard on ourselves. Everyday, I think I should just throw my camera away....lol

    Thanks for the encouragement.

I'm pretty demanding of myself. I look at the work of others in this forum and strive to achieve anything near their level.

I'll repeat, this board continues to teach and inspire/frustrate me!!! :mad2:

Nature is one of the toughest things technically to photography. It is much more difficult simply because so much is random. It is a good thing to be demanding, thats how to improve.

Personally I like the challenge. I have shot more "nature" in the past year or two than in the previous twenty combined, partially because of this site. I keep remembering stuff I forgot and keep 'rediscovering and learning'. I figure the birds owe me a couple of photos simply for the various seeds, suets, water baths, and the fences that keep many of the cats at bay.

I like your vultures, the only comment is that they look as if there's too much noise reduction or some other flavor of processing.

Actually they look as if you opened the shadow drasticly from exposing for the sky and trying to get the detail back.

For TV's in flight at noon , I use +1ev usually and adjust from there.
