    Boys Will Be Boys

A few shots from this weekend.

These two young bucks in training started playing right next to where I was sitting. There were some tall weeds between us, so the shots aren't that clear, but it was fun to watch.

After the the young ones walked down the field looking for breakfast, I looked up the field and saw these two going at it. It was too far away to tell if they were playing or if they were being agressive.

That evening, after most of the snow had melted, I watched these two big boys eyeing each other up. They never did go at it, but the darker one on the right sure looked like he was ready to let the other one have it. In this pic they are both eating, but it looks like they could go at it any second.

Nice series mjs1973, the rutting frenzy here has quietened down here so big sightings have become not so frequent.

More snow! these pictures with snow in them only makes me more envious! to have a white Christmas here would be fantastic, but im not holding my breath.

Thanks Bev. I'm hoping for some more snow too. What you see in the first few pics was all gone by early afternoon that same day. Notice the lack of snow in the last image. The rut is pretty much over here too, although the pics don't really tell the story. I didn't see any bucks chasing does this weekend.

My deer days are over for a while now, but I do have a few more from this weekend to post. With gun deer season opening this weekend, I'm staying out of the woods, and waiting for some more snow before I go looking for the big boys again.

ugh SNOW already? Isn't summer just getting into full swing?

I have to do something about this "winter" thing soon...nice shots though, glad I don't have any snow here...I'll take 75-105f all year, thanks very much.
