Question Books on digital wildlife photography?

Hi: I am hoping to buy a book on digital wildlife photography as a gift. The recipient is most interested in bird photography so I was hoping to find one that covers that subject. He already has a camera and is experienced in using it so I am hoping to find a book that talks about techniques as opposed to equipment. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate them!

    Thanks,
    tebo2

Well Tebo, I apologize that there have been no suggestions yet.

I, for one, cannot come up with a title/author that I can recommend. I don't recall seeing a digital techniques book geared primarily towards birds. You may have to settle on one slightly more general like one for digital photography or nature photography (or better yet, digital nature photography).

And, of course, welcome to PR! We are honored that your first post is with us.

Thanks anyway, Loupy. Can you suggest books on digital wildlife photography in general, then?

Tebo i dont know if this may be of help but there are 2 websites that are very good for books, they are www.bookfinder.com and www.abebooks.com i have got many a good photography book from these sites, there are 2 books i also refer to many a time and that is "The art of Nature Photography" by Niall Benvie, which covers techniques, and covers various animals photography, the other is "The essential Wildlife photography manual" by Chris Weston, also try www.amazon.com they are also a very good book supplier.

Oh yes www.readersunion.co.uk has a lot of nature/bird books, they are a book club, i get most my books here, and i know they have just bird photography books, i know i bought one, lent it out and never saw it again!! cant remember author though, hope this helps in some way.

    Good luck.

    Welcome to the Forum.

I don't have any books that I can personally recomend, but after doing a search on Amazon.com for Bird Photography there seems to be a few books that may be what you're looking for.

Digital Bird Photography-A Comprehensive Tutorial by Jon Brierley

The Art of Bird Photography: The Complete Guide to Professional Field Techniques by Arthur Morris

Wild Bird Photography: National Audubon Society Guide by Tim Fitzharris

These are just the first 3 books that resulted from my search, and there were a few more. Here is a link to my search results.
