    Dryocopus Pileatus

Well i finally got myself a Picture of a Pileated Woodpecker I was running between trouble calls today and got a glimpse of this guy going from tree to tree .So i pulled my truck over for a few minutes and this guy stopped and gave just the one pose. I would have loved to get in closer and get some good feather detail but it was not going to happen lol . He only gave me time for one capture

Well caught Knight, the spontaneous ones are always the most exciting.
