Blue Jay in action

I shot this today of a Blue Jay just taking off from the limb it was sitting on. This is a single shot with a single focus point.

This guy/gal is looking right at you! Amazingly sharp with the flutter of his wings visible. Great catch.

Thanks Liz and Armando for your comments. This was taken in a slit second time frame and I am amazed I got it. This was taken with my D7000 and my Nikon 70-300VR at a full 300mm. Thanks again, Jeff

I have something similar with a Yellow-rumped Warbler. Didn't even realize I caught him taking off until I got the pics onto the computer. From what I could tell in the viewfinder I thought I'd completely missed him.
