Birds and gators
From yesterday and today out at my local state park.
What I think is a downy woodpecker. I was looking right at the sun, very hard to get a look at him. He did have the tiny red spot on the top of the back of his head, but i got no pictures showing it.

A small-ish gator watching from the edge of the lake, through a polarizer so I can see into the water.

A much larger one coming in from out in the lake.

A pair of moorhens, a new sight for me at the park.

One day several weeks ago I got to speak with one of the rangers, and he described a gator they call "Gimpy," missing his right front foot. Well, I got to meet Gimpy yesterday.
We, um..... didn't shake.... :)

Met a different alligator today:

They can be sneaky little guys....

The moorhens were still around. At least one of them, anyway....

And an Eastern Towhee foraging on the ground. He was back in the shade, couldn't tell what he was, and my snapshot was about 3 stops underexposed. Photoshop to the rescue!
