Now this is NATURE!!!!!!!! I love this image, but maybe a little fill flash to light up the sea turtles as a second image would have been a different pleasing image to acompany this image?

Very pleasing, CF. I can just hear and smell the salt air, snifffff, ahhhhh!

    Thanks for the mental vacation

Were you able to get down lower? Or was it off limits during this time? I'm thinking like a down and low wide angle shot with the closeup of the leading turtle.

    Looks like a post card.

    Paulnj/Loupey:

Thanks very much again. I couldn't any lower to the ground, Loupey. You are correct, once the turtles start coming up on the shore the ranger clears everyone out. The closest you can get is a walkway above the sand. As you can see I was losing light fast. I did take a shot with fill flash and will post it, but I think it looses something. I will post later this evening. Gotta go see what my daughter is calling about just now.

    Thanks again.

were they actually there layign eggs? if so thats pretty cool.
the ones i saw (and though these ones to) were jsut basking on the shore. warming up in the sun. i could have touched them if i wanted as noone was around, but i stayed the 10 feet or what ever it was back from them.

No, not laying eggs, just coming out of the water for the night. This area is very popular for siting the Green Sea Turtle and while it is also a popular snorkel beach, it closes at sunset to protect the turtles. This shot was taken with just a few moments of sunlight left.
