    Sick Day

I woke up this morning at 5 am with a stuffed up head and a fever of 102 so I called in sick and went back to bed (I start work at 5:45am) When I woke later in the day it was around 8:30 am and the sun was up and the temp was around 9 degrees Celcius. With snow still on the ground I decided to camp out on my back deck for a few hours and enjoy the sunshine with the local wildlife.

So after about 4 hours of patience and luck I managed to find myself 3 male Blue Jays and a lone male Cardinal. I haven't gotten close enough for full frame shots yet but here's a few at about 50% crop from my adventures today.

    one more Blue Jay.

I was working with the focus setting on C-AF+M. (Continuous-AF+manual) to get through the brances properly. 2 of the males are building nests with the females and the 3rd male was attempting to steal one of the girls away from the first 2 boys. It made for a fun early afternoon birding outing in my jammies on the deck lol. Slippers on and coffee in hand.

    Hope you feel better soon.

But it is nice to be able to sit back and watch the action in one's own backyard. Glad you made the best of it.

Nice. I am going to be sick for 2 more days according to my doctor =)

Too bad the weather is going to suck. I am hoping to morrow morning is going to be nice before the rains set in.

I hear there are some Tundra swans taking a migrating rest near milton if you feel like being sick tomorrw like me too lol.

    Jay

Loupey thanks for the kind words.. I was better around 10 am I am just milking a sick incident now. They don't count days off ..where I work they count how many times you call in sick in a year. As long as we keep it under 5 times a year and 3 days or less per occurance then they don't bother us and we get 15 days of extra vacation time lol.
