Very good captures, Erik, but not your usual sharpness. AF? I notice the front of the nest and limbs in front of the eagle are sharp.
This is why I don't often trust AF. When there's clutter, it doesn't know an eagle from a limb and often focuses on the foreground object. I even had a weed mess up a shot one time.

Wow! Very nice. You are lucky Eric. Shots like that won't happen for me.
In Colorado when an Eagles Nest is spoted, signs go up and packs of deputized grannys' patrols with umbrella's and handcuffs. heehee

The nest is just above the sign [between the TT in attention] in that single tree. Can you spot it? Our only hope for a good shot is if they fly out and land near our blind.

Nice series. I've gotta get away from here and find some birds, any birds.

Federal law mandates a 1000 foot barrier from a nest I do believe, but if the nest is close to a road you are aloud to get close.

In FL you can find eagles that are very accustomed to humans and will nest close to roads. I remember seeing a eagle nest somewhere in the fort myers area 20 feet from a road at most.

    But anyway. Great images Eric!!!!

Our local news reported that you have to be 50 fet away from an active nest in Forida. Believe it or not I shot this Eagle & nest from my car (aprox 50 feet away) with a window mount mono pod. The police have driven right by me and waved :0

Me neither. Your image reminds me of the one and only time I came close to a nesting pair in Ohio - except with a bunch of trees in between. A birder with a high powered scope was the only way we could see them with any detail.

That would be "George and Gracie" out in Cape Coral. And yes, they're still going strong (although Gracie has a new man "George II" now). George I died a few years ago, but Gracie re-mated and they've been going strong.

They are nesting right in a neighborhood, and you can approach VERY close by just staying on the road.
