    Backyard birds

These are shots of some of the most common birds I get at my feeders. They're also some of the best close-up shots I've been able to get of birds so far.

This one got a little blurry but I thought it was funny the way he stood there cocking his head:

Very nice job. I have a feeder in my yard also but cannot get near it for photos. I keep hoping they will somewhat become accustomed to me being in the yard, but so far no such luck. Nice clear shots.

The results of your hard work are showing here.

I love that first image - very sharp and I love that nice smooth background. The soft reflected underlighting really make it a beauty! Nice job with the post processing!

Nice shots Quetzal. That first one is beautifully clear and I like the last one.. something about the pose with the lifted foot that makes it real eyecatching.

Great series Quetzal, and what a variety of birds you have visiting your feeders, thats something i lack here. Love the Nuthatch, we have these but not in my area!

Coastal Flyer dont give up, it took me quite a few weeks before the birds kind of accepted me, and this time of year (here) they are very jittery, what with their moult etc, come a couple of months and they start coming into the kitchen asking for their fat!

    Re: Backyard birds

Thanks Bev. Yes, alot of the birds are pretty difficult to get close to. Often I just stand or sit out near the feeders for a bit and some of them will come by after a while, like the finches and chickadees, and some usually stay away if I'm too close, like the titmice.
