    I get the winner!

Went out looking for some deer tonight, and I wasn't disappointed. Well, a little disappointed by the size of the bucks. I saw 4 or 5 bucks, but they were all pretty small. That didn't keep them from sparing with each other tho.

Yes, nice capture. According to the exif, you shot at just 1/100 sec. at 500mm. Was that handheld? If so, you are one steady guy. Great lighting on these guys, too.

    Thanks Knight and Mike.

    Mike,

These were shot on a tripod, but kind of hand held at the same time. Due to the deer moving, I was holding onto the camera while mounted on a tripod. Due to the slow shutterspeed, I would wait till there was a pause in the action, and then take my shot.

    Great images Michael.

Makes me think I should get out into the hills and see what I can find. Weather hasn't been great, snowing in the hills the last few days and rain here. Today was good, went out into the country to see what's left, not much, a few puddle ducks and one lone Swainson was all we could find. There are the usual crows and magpies, but it is difficult to get close to them without camouflage. They are very leery of rolling, or stopped, cars.

    Cheers,
