    Avian variety.

I've gone thru about a 2 month dry period. I couldn't stand it. The withdrawal pains were just getting the best of me. So, I hopped in my SUV and drove 876 miles this week. Here are a few of what I cam back with.

    Black-backed Woodpecker

    Black-capped Chickadee

    Boreal Chickadee

    Gray Jays

    Common Redpoll

    Female Pine Grosbeak

    Male Pine Grosbeak

A nice series you have here Mike! Looks like the trip was worth it. Did you find these all in the same place? What is the boreal chickadee eating? Looks like it could be a rib cage from a deer or something.

Very nice series. The boreal chickadee is a great shot and I like the three jays in the tree top.

Mike - you have some awesome species up there!

Glad you were able to get out. But 876 miles?! My 15 miles across town drive doesn't seem so bad now

Thanks, Mike They were all in the same vicinity called the Sax Zim Bog. It was about 35 miles NW of Duluth. Deer rib cage is correct. Photographers and birders hang a couple up in the bog, so as to attract the birds.
