long tailed ducks are pretty cool aren't they. Did you brave the jetty to see purple sandpiper, dunlin and possible harlaquins?

The second seagull shot is really good, but what the heck is #3? It has the body of a Canadian or Cackling goose, but the head just doesn't match.

Re: Ducks and Seagulls at the Lighthouse

I didn't venture too far out on the jetty. I left the car without a jacket on Saturday. It wasn't cold until I got out on the jetty in the wind. I did stay for about two hours anyway. Next time I am bringing the tripod and a sweat shirt. There was a lot of action that day. I took about 100 pictures. Got a few good shots.most of them I put on my flickr page.I always check to see if you made any comments on my pictures.
    Thanks Again
    Frank

Mike I think they call it a Brant. i don't know if that is what the locals call it or that is what it is. i will do a search on google.

It is a Brant it is in the goose family.
