anyone ever try to decoy ducks?

just curious if anyone here has ever tried a "hunting" setup on ducks or geese to get good action photos of them. Im going to try this in a few weeks on some resident canada geese at my place in north georgia.

    thanks

I have never tried it with ducks and geese, but I have used decoys for turkeys, along with calling them in. If it works for hunters, there isn't any reason it wouldn't work for a photographer.

    Hi Cabeb,
Do you plan to dek a field or water?

In a field, you will need 2-3 dozen deks. Geese like numbers on the ground and I would not recommend a goose call unless you get a tape and learn the difference between DANGER the primary call a goose makes and Come Here. HaHa

In water 6-12 would be a good number.

Good Luck and happy hunting. I look forward to your picts...

Re: anyone ever try to decoy ducks?

thanks, I bought 2 dozen floater decoys and a layout boat so I can do it on the water. And I have been learning the goose call with a cd in the truck while I ride around over the past few months. It is a lot harder than I thought it would be

    we will see what happens!
