    Japanese Gulls

I didn't think I shot any wildlife during my recent trip to Japan until I found this shot.

Shot from the back of an island-hopping ship with the 5D and the 24-105mm f/4L IS.

I'm guessing the gulls were very close to you

Wow Loupey, what a great image. You have certainly nailed the exposure spot on.

AE - you bet! My kids were throwing "gull snacks" sold on the ship specifically to throw at the gulls. But they are shrimp flavored and my 14 Y.O. son ate one bag.

Cassie - thanks! Yeah the hazy sunlight on white is not the best situation but then again, it was an unexpected treat to shoot something familiar

Not only the exposure, but the sharpness as well.

Nicely shot, but it can't be Japanese if it wasn't working that day ....... hahaha

    Mike - thanks for looking!

Paul - LOL! Nor were they crowded onto subways

Another shot from earlier in this sequence (might actually be the same bird - I forget now). Those snacks must have been mouth-watering A tight crop.
