    Yes. Northern pintail. A nice one at that. They are one of the coolest ducks, in my opinion. In flight, their neck seems very long, and the sprig is unmistakable.

    Unfortunately, their population is struggling. They're not in any danger of being a listed species, but their numbers are well below what they were histrically.

    Ahhh, I love the Reifel sanctuary and visit it when I go out to my mother's place in Ladner. Wish they had something similar here in Edmonton. Beautiful shot.

    Reifel certainly is a popular place. It would be perfect with more exotic birds.

    That's an excellent example of a full-plumage drake pintail. I would even call it a trophy bird.
