The Kodak I mentioned above was my parents but due to poor results I acquired it early on. Shortly there after a knowledgeable friend explained the need for a light meter and the benefit of having a tripod. Suddenly the camera known for poor results took great pictures. I was hooked instantly! Unfortunitly as the years went on the 6x9 format became an issue as did finding the film. I stepped up from a Kodak (cira 1939) w/an Ektar lens to a Yashica 635 (cira 1958). The Ebay camera arrived as Minty as can be w/ a three element Yashikor 80mm lens ... I then sent it and a late model MAT 124G (parts camera) to Mark Hama in Marietta, GA. He CLA the 635 and install the four element Yashinon lens. Now it shoots as good and feels as good as it looks.

I was born and brought up in Iran, a beautiful country full of history. I started taking photos at an early age of my life with a Lubitel, a Russian twin lenses camera. Most of my photos in those days were black and white. It was a very nice camera that my parents gave me when I was 15 years old.

Also I always loved nature, and the different patterns made in it. I remember because of my Entomology studies, I would spend hours in the laboratory looking into microscopes at those beautiful and perfect structures that God created in those different tiny flowers, plants, tiny nematods, animals and insects. Then after I finished university in Iran, I left to do on my M.Sc. in California, the Golden State. There I was witness to even more of the beauties that nature held in each di

I claim no knowledge to the technology or mechanics of photography. I enjoy it clearly from an aesthetic point of view. I love photos and the art achieved by this medium. I can only comment on the artistic and creative endeavors of the photos I view. I hope this is enough to use this forum and post on the boards. I appreciate the life and the soul of this work, of humanity, of something in ourselves that begs to be recorded
and witnessed.

A bit about myself! That's that hardest thing for me to do. I'm not sure I even know myself, even after 52 years on this earth. I am father of 5 (2 natural, 3 step), grandfather of 7, uncle of numerous, and in the past have been a foster parent.
