I enjoy taking photos of nature, and pics I take of people, I try to have them not be 'posed'. I think there's not much tackier than posed photos, though I realise in some situations it's a necessity (ie: weddings)

I’m an Illinois native, lived in Tokyo for a couple of years, now transplanted to Utah. I still have my Brownie Hawkeye Flash and my Pentax K1000. I’ve spent many years on the stage as a classical musician, singing and conducting, directing musical theater, and teaching.
I’ve turned my creative energies more to photography lately. I shoot a lot of model portfolios, events, and portraiture. But I do love landscapes and dabble with that once in a while. My kids are involved in soccer so I will shoot that sometimes, but it is not my forte.
I’m an odd duck in that I’m an educator and creative person, but a conservative. I grew up thinking the government should let people do for themselves help society maintain a level playing field. I get less conservative at local government levels, so I am happy to shoot events for conservative politicians that keep their word. (boy if that ever happened with either party!)

I've got this crazy idea to become a surf photographer so I bought a camera and I'm trying to learn as much about photography as possible while I'm away from the ocean. I have three children that are exactly what I hoped and dreamed they would be. And not to forget my wonderful wife who is supporting me through my attempt at reinventing myself.
