Is there a better way to upload a website?
I'm going crazy with Frontpage. All kinds of errors and corrupted pages. I spent days just trying to delete pages and upload uncorrupted versions but the website is not cooperating. Our web hosting service says all looks good from their end, all the proper extensions are on, but I'm having a heck of a time updating photos and pages. I finally was able to delete the content of the website and am now uploading the replacement files (which seem to work fine right now-we'll see what happens when they get to the website) and it is taking forever with Frontpage. This is not a big upload either, 19 megs, and I have a DSL connection where I've been averaging 500k upload speeds, and it's been 2 hours so far and it's still uploading. If any experts out there have any advice, my ears are very willing to listen
Re: Is there a better way to upload a website?
I tried and tried with Frontpage but in the end moved over to Macromedia's Dreamweaver and have found it a much better program. There are so many other overheads with Frontpage I just didn't like, one of them being the problems you are experiencing.
I use WS-FTP to do all my website uploading and don't use Frontpage extensions although have the facility with the websites that I have and can host as well.
I often wonder if it really is partly the Web Hosting Services that may not have setup the extensions correctly on their servers, although they say they have.
I know that doesn't help a lot, but just shows someone is listening.
