Pls comment on Shanghai Photo gallery web design

Please provide amy comment on the design of my Shanghai photo gallery at:

Is it easy to get around ie intuitive?
Do I need instructions to navigate around?

Well done, except your navigation isn't really intuative. I selected a family and friends photo, but how do I get back to selections when viewed the photo.

It is a good idea to keep navigation consistent, otherwise people will leave a site in frustration.

Some of the images are very soft/out of focus, is that your intention.

Overall the site design is good, some of the main navigation links show as images, but the wording is missing underneath, shows up when you hover over the image (main page links).

Home page is totally different from what I expected but that was because of the initial link.

web site page navigation idea use the block menu from http://www.jongresham.com/phothome.html in the middle with mouse over thumbnail preview next to it instead of random images use chinashanghaitext.gif as the default image when there are no mouse over thumbnail preview then the text from http://www.jongresham.com/photchinashanghai.html on the other side.
