My brand new website-56k friendly, too!

Hi there, just finished my first website, made it all by myself using dreamweaver 4. I think it turned out not so bad. For some reason, there is a red x on one of the pages. everything works fine on my comp, I have uploaded the suspect files like 4 times now. I think this red x is like the lightswitch everyone has in their home that does nothing. Ah well. I'm going to be adding a bio and more content as well, hopefully revamping it one of these days. Let me know what you think.

Just so you know, this particular forum is strictly for the critiquing of photographs, and not the announcing of your website.
We do encourage such posts from our members, but post like that should be made in the ViewFinder.

Really would be nice if these posts were actually put in the Web and Internet Forum which would help to boost that forum along and give me an apportunity to nominate a website as a featured website. Bit of a problem when there are so many forums.

Dastardly, thanks for showing us your interesting web site.

One tip: The image with the text "derek.ulrich.photography", save it as a GIF with 128 colors instead. The size will go down from 51kb to 10kb without any noticeable difference and it saves about 8 sec download time for 56k modem users.
Black image at the bottom, save that with GIF, 8 colors, size 21 -> 1.7kb, saves another 4 sec, which makes the total 12 sec.

I just thought it was worth mentioning :)
