XD Type M Card - Accidently Formatted in XP
    Hi,

I just bought a E510, Fuji Film xD Type M1GB (1gig), DPC-R1 (Fuji) card reader.
(At the time it was working in the camera and had some pictures).
I was trying to get it to read and windows xp was not able to read the device and said do u wana format it. I thought maybe the card needs to be formatted and I formatted the card ( i know it was stupid thing to do)
After formatting it's readable in the windows but not readable by the camera Error: "card not intialized".
I donno what to do, Please provide some help on this.

    Thank u,

    Moe

Have a look at the card in windows XP and see what format it was formated at, it might be in the wrong format. Needs to bet formatted in FAT and the allocation try 512. Then try it in the camera again.

Or can your format it in the camera again to get the formatting correct for the camera, I would assume no as the cameras comes up with an error when trying to initialise it, but you might be able to using the camera menu.

The 1GB XD card is a break in the technology and not all cameras and devices are compatible. Your DPC-R1 is not compatible with the 1GB type M XD card without a firmware upgrade.

See this page for more details.

I suggest that you format the card in your camera
