    write error problems?
i bought a 512mb picture card for my fujifilm A340 and about 80% of the time i take a picture it says "Write Error" i checked the fujifilm Q&A, but all that said to do was wipe the card with a soft cloth and to format it. after formatting it, the problem was reduced to about 50-60% of the time. im just curious if there is something i could do to make this problem either go away entirely or to reduce it from happening as much. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Try a different card and try a different camera with the same card. Either way you will find out which one is at fault. Does the Fujufilm A340 take a 512mb card is another question to answer as well.

I had the same problem with a Fujifilm A340 write error... I went to circuit city where I bought the camera but they were of no help to me. Eventually I called the fuji technical line, and got some great info. The problem is that the A340 does not have the software neccesary to write to an MXD card. Check if the 256 card has an M on it. If so, go to the Fujifilm webpage into the Support and Contact Center, Digital Camera and software support.
There are 2 downloads you will need. One is a driver for the A340 and the other is the software update. It was a little complicated to get the software on the camera, but when it was evenutally done it worked well.
There is also little help online with this problem.
I hope you are able to fix your camera.

I had the exact same problem as original poster and this fixed it completly. So you don't get confused what you are putting on your camera is a firmware update. Thank you Both for helping.
