    What does "automatic"mean?
    Hi,

Probably another stupid question on my behalf, but I am taking a course that requires students to have a "non-automatic camera" What does that mean? Is the Canon Elan-7 automatic? What is an example of a non-automatic camera?

    Thanks.

Usually they just want you to have a camera that allows for manual adjustments. Meaning that you set the aperture and shutter-speed yourself as opposed to having the camera automatically set them. While the Elan 7 can be used in full-auto mode, it can also be used in full-manual mode, so it should be fine. I used a Rebel 2000 for my first photography class.

    Good luck!
