    water on my lens
    Hi Everyone!
Today I was out and about taking pictures and while I was taking photos near a fountain, I was sprayed by some of the water (the wind blew in my direction, i guess). I turned away from the fountain, but I still got some drops of water on my lens. A few minutes later I got out my 'lens cloth' and tried to gently wipe it off, but the markings of the water were still on there.
What is the proper way to clean my lens? I ended up taking some photos anyway, do you think it will effect my photos? Thanks.

I just use one of those lens cleaning kits (something like this

Drip a little it of fluid on the paper, then use the paper to clean off the lens, and then I take my microfiber cloth to wipe off any residue.

Can I use the cloth that comes with my LCD Monitor cleaning kits?

You should be OK with an LCD cleaning cloth but you might want a separate one. My LCD gets more stuff on it than a lens because it's pressing against my face, and I wouldn't want to rub that on the lens.

I use a microfiber cleaning cloth for lenses with no cleaning solution. Occasionally I use Eclipse Lens Cleaning Solution and their paper wipes which are different than regular lens tissue. Calumet Photo can ship it to you if you can't find it locally. Works great and a small bottle is about a lifetime supply.

Whatever cleaning solution you use, apply it to the pad or tissue and not directly to the lens.

True. MY computer monitor gets at least 100x more dirty than my camera lens. I think I'll try to get a dedicated cloth or that cleaning paper stuff at a camera store.
    Cheers.

I've had great success with Eclipse fluid on pec pad or standard lens tissue.

I'm a convert to Eclipse fluid and pac pads too, works well, and quickly.
Even gets off dead flies impacted onto the lens at 85mph
