I'm not sure about your particular camera but, I had a similar problem with my Nikon D50 on my work computer which runs XP Professional. Under menu options there is a USB option and it offer a Mass Storage option or PTP. It was set to Mass Storage. Changing to PTP solved the problem. Again, not sure about your particular camera though.

If you open windows picture and fax viewer, it has an option to get photos.
Never had to do it that way but you might give it a try.

It looks like you installed all the software for the Canon, so were you using ZoomBroweser, Explorer, or other software?

Can you see the camera in explorer. If not then the software did not install properly. The reason is that on one of my computer which has Norton it prevents the Canon Software installing properly. Shutdown AntiVirus and Firewall and re-install the software and I think you'll find it works okay. You can restart all the firewalls... after the install and it will continue to work. This is not just a Canon install problem, a load of software can't install with these things going.

Roger, you may or may not have figured out R3's problem but I'm pretty sure you gave me the answer to one that's been bugging me.
    Sometimes I need a reminder...Thanks!

When New hardward is found, insert the CD that came with the camera. If it doesn't install the drivers. 1) select properties of My Computer (a right click on My Computer icon), 2) Select the tab hardware, 3) Select Device Manage, 4) There should be a yollew question mark, in front of the Canon Camera. 5) Another right click on it and select properties, 6) select the driver tab, 7) Select Update Driver, 8) Tell the computer to look in the CD drive and it should find the driver and reinstall.

The whole think I just written should be found in the paper work that came with the camera.

    alright i got it guys.
    okay i have another question.
when they upload they go into a folder and then in the folder
all the pictures are in like their seperate folders.
like 3 or 4 pictures would be in one folder then
another 3 or 4 pictures would be in another folder
is their any way just to have all the pictures in one folder?

No it always uses a separate folder. However in the aquire page there is a preference setting which allows all of a months photos to be put into the month folder without the date.

Personally I file everything under date and then move them as part of my workflow onto a second disk. I then use these to group into shoots if I need to.
